Has labour history lost its way? This collection of essays will stimulate that debate. Three are historiographical essays. Against their background the next four authors directly engage with the challenges posed by post-modern themes and cultural theory. The last four essays are more specific, and present examples of the ways in which theoretical reappraisals can shape the writing of labour history.
